KARACHI: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted rainfall in several districts of Sindh, including Karachi, between August 17 and 22.
According to the Met Office, weak monsoon currents have started entering eastern Sindh and are likely to intensify, covering most parts of the province from Sunday onwards.
During this spell, skies in many areas are expected to remain partly cloudy with increased humidity, making conditions sticky for residents.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that water levels at Guddu, Sukkur, and Kotri barrages remain stable and within the normal range.
The forecast comes at a time when northern Pakistan has been severely affected by heavy rains, leading to flash floods and landslides that have caused more than 300 fatalities.
The PMD has also warned of isolated heavy showers in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, and Kashmir, with further chances of rain in northeast and southern Balochistan, southern Punjab, and southeastern Sindh, particularly during evening and nighttime hours.
Earlier, the weather department highlighted that the upcoming system would enter Sindh via India’s Gujarat region on the night of August 17.
