Under the directives of the Director General Food Authority, the Food Safety Teams launched a major crackdown in Bhawana, seizing a milk tanker, destroying 1,800 liters of adulterated milk, and arresting the accused.
According to the spokesperson of the Food Authority, the supplier’s vehicle bearing registration number RIN-2771 was found transporting fake and hazardous milk. On-the-spot testing revealed that the milk was unfit for human consumption.
The operation was carried out after three days of continuous surveillance, resulting in the immediate destruction of the adulterated milk and the registration of a case against the culprit.
The spokesperson added that strict legal actions are being taken against those involved in the illegal business of producing and selling synthetic milk.
Following the special instructions of the Chief Minister of Punjab, the Food Authority has vowed to utilize all available resources to eliminate adulteration mafias.
The spokesperson further warned milk suppliers to strictly comply with the prescribed safety standards, stressing that no leniency will be shown towards violators.
