National Resilience Day Observed by Punjab Emergency Service Chiniot

According to Bureau Chief Punjab Malik Maqsood Chinioti, under the directions of Secretary Emergency Services Department Dr. Rizwan Naseer (Sitara-e-Imtiaz), the Punjab Emergency Service, District Chiniot, observed National Resilience Day to raise awareness about disaster preparedness and response.

A flag march was organized under the supervision of District Emergency Officer Tahira Khan, which started from the Rescue Office, passed through Faisalabad Road and Jhumra Road, and concluded at Khatm-e-Nabuwat Chowk.

All emergency vehicles carried public awareness banners highlighting the importance of disaster prevention and preparedness.

While speaking to the media, District Emergency Officer Tahira Khan emphasized that National Resilience Day reminds us that identifying risks and ensuring preparedness can help minimize potential losses. She paid tribute to the real heroes — the rescuers who risk their lives during natural disasters, and remembered those who lost their lives in the October 8, 2005 earthquake.

She further stated that public awareness and basic training are essential for creating a safer society and that every household should have at least one trained first aider.

Tahira Khan also mentioned that the Rescue 1122 Community Wing is providing regular training in first aid, fire safety, and disaster management so that every citizen can play an active role in any emergency situation.

Concluding her remarks, she said that through modern training programs for educational institutions, industries, and communities, Rescue 1122 is contributing to the vision of a safe and resilient Pakistan.
