Chiniot: In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for a “Drug-Free Punjab,” Chiniot Police have intensified their crackdown against drug peddlers across the district.
On the special directives of District Police Officer (DPO) Chiniot Dr. Naveed Atif, a district-wide special campaign was launched against drug dealers. During the ongoing operation, police arrested 22 drug peddlers from different areas of Chiniot district.
According to police officials, more than 10 kilograms of hashish, 7 kilograms of heroin, and liquor were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspects. The seized narcotics were taken into custody, and further legal action is underway.
Cases under relevant sections of the Narcotics Control Act have been registered against the arrested suspects at City Police Station, Saddar Police Station, Rajua Police Station, Kot Wasawa Police Station, Chenab Nagar Police Station, Muhammad Wala Police Station, Lalian Police Station, and Bhawana Police Station.
DPO Dr. Naveed Atif stated that the special crackdown against drug peddlers will continue across the district and emphasized that high-quality investigations are being ensured to secure strict punishments for those involved in drug trafficking.
He also urged citizens to cooperate with the police and report any drug-related activities in their areas by calling 15, assuring prompt action against offenders.
