On the special instructions of City Police Officer (CPO) Syed Khalid Mahmood Hamdani, Airport Police carried out a major operation and seized a truck loaded with kites and kite string. During the action, a supplier involved in the illegal supply of kite-flying material was arrested.
According to police sources, 20,000 kites and 100 rolls of kite string were recovered from the truck. The arrested supplier was planning to distribute kite-flying material worth millions of rupees to different areas of the city.
Airport Police received confidential information regarding the large-scale transportation of kites and kite string, following which immediate action was taken and the vehicle was intercepted.
Police have registered a case against the accused and taken him into custody for further investigation.
Speaking on the occasion, SP Potohar Sardar Babar Mumtaz Khan stated that kite flying has been declared a non-bailable offense, and strict action will continue against those involved in this dangerous activity.
He further emphasized that individuals involved in the deadly game of kite flying will not be allowed to escape the grip of the law under any circumstances.
