SARAI ALAMGIR (Report by Raja Amjad Mahmood) A prayer ceremony (Qul) was held in Sarai Alamgir for the departed soul of Amir Mahmood, a well-known social figure and senior matchmaker, who passed away yesterday.
Ceremony Details
The ceremony was attended by hundreds of people, including political and social figures, local elders, and relatives.
- Recitation: The event commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Muhammad Bilal.
- Tribute: Sufi Muhammad Aslam presented a devotional tribute (Naat) in honor of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
- Sermon: Hafiz Sufi Umar delivered a poignant lecture on the “Philosophy of Life and Death,” emphasizing the temporary nature of this world. The event concluded with special prayers for the high ranks of the deceased in the hereafter.
Family Background
The late Amir Mahmood belonged to a respected religious and social family. He was:
- The eldest son of the late Muhammad Akbar Qadri.
- The nephew of Pir Sufi Muhammad Ashraf (widely known as Khushbu Wali Sarkar).
- The elder brother of Muhammad Imran Darzi.
- The uncle of Sufi Muhammad Umar Qadri.
- Cousin to Muhammad Ilyas, Ghazanfar Ali, Murtaza Ahmed Qadri, Raza Elahi, Muhammad Rashid Mahmood, and the late Muhammad Iftikhar.
- The maternal uncle of Muhammad Saad and Muhammad Usman.
The local community has expressed deep grief over his passing, describing it as a significant loss for the region.
