The peaceful and dignified resolution of tensions that had recently emerged between journalists and the police in Bhakkar is being widely welcomed as a highly positive development.
In this regard, Sheikh Khizar Hayat, who serves as District President of Pakistan International Human Rights, District President of All Pakistan Media Council Registered, District General Secretary of Pakistan Journalists Association District Bhakkar, and Chairman of the Traders Association Discipline Committee Registered Bhakkar, played an important and highly commendable role.
According to sources, Sheikh Khizar Hayat acted as a key mediator between both parties, not only helping remove misunderstandings but also restoring an atmosphere of mutual trust and cooperation.
He held separate as well as joint meetings with members of the journalist community and police officials, during which all concerns were heard in detail and resolved through mutual consultation.
Speaking on the occasion, Sheikh Khizar Hayat said that journalists are the eyes and voice of society, while the police are the guarantors of peace and law and order, therefore harmony between the two institutions is extremely important.
He further emphasized that, to prevent such incidents in the future, a formal contact committee will be established so that any dispute can be addressed and resolved immediately.
Political, social, and trader communities across the district praised Sheikh Khizar Hayat’s efforts and paid tribute to his leadership, expressing hope that his role would further strengthen peace, stability, and institutional coordination in the region.
Furthermore, several circles highlighted that such initiatives can serve as a model for other districts, where dialogue and mutual understanding can help avoid unnecessary tensions and ensure a more peaceful working environment.
