Chiniot (Report by Punjab Bureau Chief Malik Maqsood Chinioti):
In line with the vision of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif to resolve public issues through practical measures, concrete steps are continuing in District Chiniot to ensure direct access to justice and police accountability.
As part of this initiative, District Police Officer (DPO) Dr. Naveed Atif organized an open court (Khuli Kachehri) at the DPO Office in Chiniot to personally hear the complaints and concerns of citizens.
During the session, the DPO listened to various public issues in detail and issued immediate orders for prompt redressal and relief.
He also directed the Complaint Cell to ensure effective follow-up on all applications and present progress reports confirming that citizens receive proper justice and support.
Speaking on the occasion, DPO Dr. Naveed Atif stated that the doors of his office remain open at all times for the resolution of public problems.
He encouraged citizens to visit his office without hesitation and without any recommendation or reference whenever they face police-related complaints or issues.
The DPO further informed the public that citizens can also register police-related complaints from their homes through Complaint Cell Number 15, making the grievance system more accessible and citizen-friendly.
He added that he is personally available every day from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in his office during the open court hours to listen to people’s issues.
Dr. Naveed Atif emphasized that immediate justice at the police station level is being ensured, while the police department remains fully committed to maintaining law and order, equal enforcement of the law, and timely delivery of justice under all circumstances.
This initiative is being appreciated as an important step toward community policing, public trust, and transparent police administration in Chiniot.
