An incident of armed robbery has been reported within the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station, Chiniot, where unidentified robbers allegedly snatched a tractor-trolley at gunpoint and fled the scene.
According to sources, the incident took place near Mouza Chak Bandi, close to Madina Sugar Mills, at the dera (farmhouse) of Syed Samar Abbas.
Sources claim that the robbers confined a worker along with his wife and children inside a room, threatening them with serious consequences if they raised an alarm.
The suspects then escaped with a tractor-trolley estimated to be worth around Rs 5 million.
The incident has raised concerns among local residents regarding security arrangements in the area. Sources further alleged that the absence of effective checkpoints on the main Faisalabad Road may have facilitated the escape of the suspects.
Police have yet to confirm further details, while efforts to trace and apprehend the culprits are reportedly underway.
The incident has sparked criticism from local circles, with calls for improved policing measures and stronger law enforcement response to prevent such crimes.
