Syed Musa Raza has been appointed as the new Director General of the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) and has officially assumed charge of his position.
A spokesperson for the Punjab Food Authority confirmed that Syed Musa Raza is an officer of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS), 38th Common.
Prior to his appointment, he has served as Deputy Commissioner in Lahore, Skardu, Bhakkar, Muzaffargarh, and Rahim Yar Khan, gaining extensive administrative experience across multiple districts.
Upon assuming office, the new DG emphasized that strict implementation of food safety laws will be ensured across Punjab under a zero-tolerance policy.
He stated that firm action will be taken against adulteration, food fraud, and the sale of substandard food items, ensuring the protection of public health.
Syed Musa Raza further highlighted that modern technology and human resource development will be prioritized to strengthen the operational capacity of the authority.
He also stressed the importance of effective coordination with food business operators, the industry, and the general public to improve overall food safety standards.
The DG reaffirmed his commitment to working in line with the Punjab Chief Minister’s vision to eliminate harmful elements from the food sector, ensuring that all available resources are utilized for this purpose.
He concluded by stating that efforts will be made not only to ensure the availability of safe and quality food for the public, but also to bring improvement and innovation within the food industry across Punjab.
