A tragic road accident occurred early this morning near Harsa Sheikh on Lahore Road in Chiniot, resulting in the loss of two young lives and injuries to seven others.
According to initial reports, both a loader rickshaw and a harvester were traveling towards Pindi Bhattian when the accident took place. During an overtaking attempt, the loader rickshaw collided with the harvester, leading to a devastating impact.
Upon receiving the emergency call, Rescue 1122 responded promptly and reached the scene within 10 minutes, immediately initiating rescue operations.
As a result of the collision, two individuals lost their lives on the spot, identified as 14-year-old Nabeela, daughter of Aman Ullah, and 12-year-old Naveed Aman, son of Aman Ullah, both residents of Jand Wali Colony.
The seven injured individuals have been identified as Ajmal (son of Hanif), Shakeela (wife of Aman Ullah), Shabana (wife of Ajmal), Kanza (daughter of Ajmal), Adeela (daughter of Aman Ullah), Waleed Aman (son of Aman Ullah), and Tanzeela Aman (daughter of Aman Ullah).
Rescue teams provided immediate first aid to the injured and shifted them to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital Chiniot for further medical treatment. The bodies of the deceased were also transported to the hospital.
Rescue officials confirmed that the operation was completed efficiently and in a timely manner, and all injured individuals are currently reported to be out of danger.
The incident has once again highlighted the risks associated with reckless overtaking and road safety violations, urging drivers to exercise caution to prevent such tragedies.
