Islamabad: Lawyers’ Protest Turns Violent at IHC


During a protest at the Islamabad High Court, a heated exchange broke out between Islamabad High Court Bar President Wajid Gilani and other lawyers, which escalated into scuffles and physical confrontation.

A case has been registered under terrorism charges against several Islamabad lawyers on the complaint of Bar President Wajid Gilani.

Those named in the FIR include Naeem Haider Panjhota, Intizar Panjhota, Advocate Imaan Mazari, Zainab Janjua, and Hadi Ali Chattha.

The lawyers are accused of chanting slogans against the Chief Justice and state institutions, as well as attacking Bar President Wajid Gilani.
