Under the vision of Chief Minister Punjab, Ms. Maryam Nawaz Sharif, for a Drug-Free Punjab, police have intensified their crackdown against drug dealers across the province.
In a successful operation, SHO City Police Station, Sub-Inspector Kaleem Ullah, along with his team, conducted a raid at Bypass Chowk, Faisalabad Road, on a tip-off and foiled a major drug smuggling attempt.
During the operation, four inter-district drug smugglers, including two women, were arrested. Upon thorough checking of the vehicle and suspects, 100 packets of hashish (charas) weighing over 2.5 maunds (approximately 100 kilograms) were recovered — worth millions of rupees in the illegal market.
The arrested suspects belong to Gujranwala and Faisalabad districts and are expected to make significant revelations during interrogation.
A case has been registered under the relevant narcotics laws at City Police Station, and further investigation is underway.
DPO Abdullah Ahmad emphasized that “high-quality investigation will be ensured, and the arrested drug dealers will be brought to justice.”
He further stated that all necessary measures are being taken to protect the young generation from the curse of drugs and to achieve the goal of a drug-free society.
