Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan Reviews Ongoing Polio Campaign in Chiniot, Visits Nomad Settlement

Chiniot (Report by Punjab Bureau Chief Malik Maqsood Chinioti):
As part of the district-wide anti-polio campaign in Chiniot, Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan conducted a field visit to review the implementation and progress of the ongoing drive.

She was accompanied by CEO Health Dr. Saqib Munir and other senior health officials during the inspection.

During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the working of polio teams in a nomad settlement located on Jhamra Road, where she personally interacted with residents and inquired whether their young children had received the life-saving vaccine drops.

She also checked the ink marks on children’s fingers, which are used to verify that the polio drops have been administered.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan stated that the polio campaign is actively underway in all three tehsils of the district, ensuring comprehensive outreach.

She reiterated that the four-day campaign has a target of administering polio drops to 295,263 children, with teams working tirelessly across the district.

According to her, polio teams are going door-to-door with full dedication and commitment to vaccinate every eligible child, including those in remote and underserved communities.

She urged parents to fully cooperate with polio teams in the nationwide effort to eradicate the disease.

The Deputy Commissioner strongly appealed to all parents to ensure that every child up to five years of age receives polio drops, so they can be protected from lifelong disability.

The visit reflects the district administration’s commitment to achieving a polio-free Pakistan through effective field monitoring and community engagement.
