A tragic firing incident took place in the Dulwala Sadat area within the jurisdiction of Saddar Police Station, Chiniot, where Syed Atheer Abbas Shah, a member of a prominent local political Sadat family, was killed after unidentified assailants opened fire.

According to police officials, the suspects managed to flee the scene immediately after the shooting.

As soon as the incident was reported, a heavy police contingent reached the location, secured the area, and began initial investigation procedures.

The body of the deceased was shifted to the hospital for post-mortem examination.

Police have since cordoned off the surrounding area and launched a search operation to trace the attackers.

According to police sources, the incident may have stemmed from personal enmity, although investigators are examining all possible angles.

The District Police Officer (DPO) has taken notice of the incident and called for an immediate report, directing the concerned officers to ensure swift progress in the investigation.

The incident has caused concern among local residents and political circles, with demands for the early arrest of those responsible.
