RPO Rawalpindi Reviews Security Arrangements at Gurdwara Sri Panja Hasan Abdal for Baisakhi Festival

Regional Police Officer (RPO) Rawalpindi Region Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani visited Gurdwara Sri Panja in Hasan Abdal, District Attock, to conduct a detailed review of the security arrangements made for Sikh pilgrims during the Baisakhi Mela.

During the visit, he was accompanied by District Police Officer Attock Sardar Muhammad Haroon Khan and SP Investigation Zainab Ayub. The DPO briefed the RPO on the security plan, deployment of personnel, monitoring of entry and exit points, walkthrough gates, CCTV surveillance, and other protective measures.

The RPO also inspected the special control room established inside the Gurdwara, reviewed the live security monitoring system, and issued further directions for improvement.

He met Sikh pilgrims on the occasion, who expressed satisfaction over the excellent and foolproof security arrangements made by Attock Police, appreciating the professional conduct of the force.

During his meeting with the Gurdwara administration, the RPO directed officials to ensure strong coordination and an immediate emergency communication system.

He instructed that security remain on high alert throughout the Baisakhi celebrations, with all officers and personnel performing their duties responsibly.

Additional directives included:

  • strict surveillance around the Gurdwara and all access routes
  • continuous CCTV monitoring with a fully active control room
  • regular patrolling by Elite Force and mobile teams
  • implementation of a special traffic management plan
  • immediate action against any suspicious activity or individual
  • courteous and cooperative behavior with Sikh pilgrims to promote religious harmony

RPO Syed Khalid Mehmood Hamdani said that the protection of life and property of all citizens without discrimination of color, race, or religion remains Punjab Police’s top priority.

He reaffirmed that foolproof security arrangements during religious festivals will be ensured under all circumstances, and instructed all officers on duty to remain alert and vigilant to maintain peace and order throughout the Baisakhi Mela.
