Leaders of the National Peace Council highlighted the importance of peace, tolerance, and interfaith harmony during a media interaction held in the district.
Speaking on the occasion, District Chairman M. Adnan Naeem Cheema said that the National Peace Council serves as a significant platform at the national level, working to promote peaceful coexistence, tolerance, and harmony among different sects, religions, languages, and cultures in Pakistan.
He stated that Pakistan is a beautiful blend of diverse cultures and beliefs, and it is essential to ensure that differences of opinion do not turn into hostility. He emphasized that the Council aims to act as a bridge between communities, fostering unity and brotherhood across the country.
Addressing the media, City Chairman Mudassar Junaid Butt said that the National Peace Council operates on the principle that “difference of opinion is a blessing, but personal conflict is a burden.”
He added that the organization plays a key role in building trust between the police, district administration, and the public, helping to resolve minor disputes before they escalate into major conflicts.
He further urged citizens to promote love and understanding in society, stating that whenever there is hate, people should respond with peace and positivity.
Quoting the Founder of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah, he said:
“Religion, caste, or creed has nothing to do with the business of the state.”
He emphasized that the National Peace Council is committed to spreading this constitutional and national message to every household.
Concluding his remarks, he said:
“Peace is not just a slogan, but a daily practice. When every citizen plays their part, the darkness of unrest will automatically fade away.”
The session reflected a strong commitment toward building a peaceful, inclusive, and united society in Pakistan.
