Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan Reviews Polio Campaign in Chiniot, Urges Parents to Vaccinate Children

Chiniot (Report by Punjab Bureau Chief Malik Maqsood Chinioti):
As part of ongoing efforts to eradicate polio, Deputy Commissioner Chiniot Ayesha Rizwan conducted a field visit to review the implementation of the anti-polio campaign across the district.

She was accompanied by CEO Health Dr. Saqib Munir and other health officials during the inspection.

During her visit, the Deputy Commissioner reviewed the performance of polio teams working in a nomadic settlement along Jhamra Road, where she interacted with residents and inquired whether their young children had been administered the polio vaccine.

She also checked the ink marks on children’s fingers, used as verification that polio drops had been given.

Deputy Commissioner Ayesha Rizwan stated that the polio campaign is actively ongoing in all three tehsils of the district.

She further highlighted that the four-day campaign aims to vaccinate 295,263 children, with teams working tirelessly to achieve the target.

According to her, polio teams are visiting households door-to-door with dedication to ensure that every child receives the vaccine, including those in remote and underserved areas.

She urged parents to fully cooperate with polio teams in eliminating the disease.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that all parents must ensure that children up to five years of age receive polio drops, so they can be protected from lifelong disability.

The visit reflects the district administration’s strong commitment to achieving a polio-free Pakistan through effective monitoring and community participation.
